Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet rescued four initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
